The Dialogue between the Pinner Churches and Synagogues started in 1989. Harrow Central Mosque joined the group in 2002. This interaction became known as the Three Faith Dialogue.
In 2021, all parties agreed to widen the remit to include all faiths in order to reflect the many more faiths practised in Pinner and District since the Dialogue began. This group is now known as the Pinner and District Faiths’ Forum.
The aims of the Pinner and District Faiths’ Forum are to promote understanding and respect and to establish and maintain good relations between the local faith communities.
Forum meetings explore topics of mutual religious interest, often introduced by knowledgeable speakers, followed by discussion in small groups and/or a Q&A session.
Essential requirements include treating all concerned with respect whilst retaining freedom within the law to express convictions and beliefs in an honest, sensitive and straightforward way, without criticising one another’s faith beliefs or ritual practices.
Care is and must always be taken to avoid conflict and violence in relationships.
The Churches work together to support agencies dedicated to relief work in developing countries, and those working for a fairer world. All PAC Churches are ‘Fair Trade’ Churches, using Fair Trade products wherever possible.
